BruCon write-up

Posted on 10:53 AM by Unknown
Blogpost: My 2-day diary from BruCon:

09:00 AM
Keynote from Mikko Hypponen:
Memoirs of a Data Security Street Fighter.

Mikko Hypponen, from F-Secure, made an excellent talk about the very first viruses up until now.
The first computer virus was of course Brain, which in these days was revolutionary. Mr. Hypponen even showed us some older DOS viruses on his laptop, to
the enthusiasm of all listeners, including me.

Who doesn't remember Bugbear, Loveletter, the Kournikova virus and so on ? And I'm pretty sure most people still know Conficker (aka Downadup) .

Well, this is how far I got. Next year I will simply start making a write-up in the next few days. This way I'll remember much more.

Either way, you can find an excellent posting of the BruCon Security Conference on the Corelan Team's blog:
http://www.corelan.be:8800/index.php/tag/brucon/

Additionaly, BruCon was so kind to put the presentations online:

... And for those who like to plan ahead, keep 23 & 24 September next year free in your schedule.

More information can be found on the website of BruCon:

See you next year at BruCon !
